Cougars Hold Off Scrappy Florida Memorial Team 67-64 in Overtime

Miami Gardens, FL - Columbus State got four points each from Blake Zamudio and Chris Telesford in overtime on Monday and the Cougars held off a scrappy Florida Memorial team 67-64 in the first action of 2010 for CSU. The Cougars move to 5-3 on the season with the win and snap a mini two-game losing skid, while FMU moves to 2-12.... full story

Anderson Shooting Too Much for Cougars in 80-68 Loss

Columbus, Ga. --  Anderson University used a barrage of three-pointers at the Lumpkin Center on Friday to down host Columbus State 80-68 in the final game of the 2009 portion of the schedule. The loss drops CSU to 4-3 on the season while Anderson moves to 7-1.... full story

Cougar men's basketball player Nick Gagnon has earned this week's Cougar Athlete of the Week honor. The senior from nearby Lanett, Ala., has been a behind-the-scenes role player for the Cougars this season, but has performed extremely well. In the two games this week, he averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per outing, helping the Cougars to two wins. One of those wins came against then #2 Valdosta State on the road as Gagnon went 4-6 from the floor with six rebounds in 33 minutes of floor time.
