Cougars Hold Off Scrappy Florida Memorial Team 67-64 in Overtime

Miami Gardens, FL - Columbus State got four points each from Blake Zamudio and Chris Telesford in overtime on Monday and the Cougars held off a scrappy Florida Memorial team 67-64 in the first action of 2010 for CSU. Lady Cougars Open New Year with 66-56 Home Loss to Fort Valley State

Columbus, Ga. -  The Columbus State women's basketball team opened the new year on Saturday with a 66-56 home loss to Fort Valley State to end its winning streak at five games.  FVSU improved to 9-0 on the season, while CSU dropped to 6-4 on the season.  ... full story

Cougar men's basketball player Nick Gagnon has earned this week's Cougar Athlete of the Week honor. The senior from nearby Lanett, Ala., has been a behind-the-scenes role player for the Cougars this season, but has performed extremely well. In the two games this week, he averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per outing, helping the Cougars to two wins. One of those wins came against then #2 Valdosta State on the road as Gagnon went 4-6 from the floor with six rebounds in 33 minutes of floor time.
